Greystone 20 for 20 Campaign
Greystone Theological Institute is committed to the recovery of rigorous theological study and ministerial formation within an overall context of worship, feasting, hospitality, and patient conversation. Since 2015 ministers, academics, students, and others have told us of the immense value of taking time away from the often frenzied nature of our vocational life to connect with others in the Greystone network on site for classes and other events. For ministers and other church leaders, these times away, when ordered toward fruitful fellowship and edification, can also be exponentially more valuable than a traditional vacation. For students, they can make the difference between acquiring mere information and acquiring formation. But now we need your help.
Greystone Coraopolis is the base site of Greystone Theological Institute, part of which is Flinn House, the on-site residential wing (and former parsonage) which has the potential to house up to 10 students and/or instructors during classes held each term. This could be a wonderful provision for our students, but the first step toward realizing this provision is a necessary renovation of the main bathroom. Without this option, students and instructors have to stay in area hotels or find other housing, which significantly increases costs. But with a functioning residential wing, students and instructors will be able to stay on site, greatly extend times of conversation and fellowship, enrich the hospitality facet of Greystone’s mission, and reduce costs for all.
To renovate the bathroom at Greystone’s Flinn House, we need to raise at least $20K, and we are hoping to do so over the next 20 days. Would you consider supporting this effort to provide a place for retreat, for study, and for deeper fellowship for our students, faculty, and friends? The grand total needed for all Flinn House and related Greystone renovations approximates $100K, and any received funds that exceed the $20K target of our 20 for 20 campaign will go to these additional renovations.
